Katy's diary Air transportation By Fumino

Well,last summer I went to Canada by jumbo jet.The plane was huge!Of course,I have traveled around by jumbo jet before,but it was bigger then I remembered.First,I payed airfare to an airline.IT　WAS SO EXPENSIVE!!As I boarded,lots of crew helped me.I had a lot things in my head!There was a paper about jet engines in the back of the seat.it said,jumbo jets have jet engines.A jet engine looks like a fan that spins very fast.It sucks air in and then makes the air very hot.it shoots the hot air out the back of the engine and makes the jet go forward very fast.Finally it said,`Only rockets can go faster than jet engines.while I was on the plane,I saw a video about fighter planes.There was supersonic fighter plane in the video.The video said that it's so load.Then the video talked a little about a weird plane called `Space ship one"This space ship can go to space and come back on the same day!Isn't it wonderful!And it said,`Some day we might be able to go from New York to Tokyo in only two hours!"Wow!! Right now,it's impossible.My suggestion.Please make airfare cheaper!Well,this is true.So I hope, in the future it's cheaper than now.When we landed at Canada's airport,there was helicopter.I know helicopters can hover and fly backwards.Helicopters are cool!Aren't they?Well,because I was in an airport,I was able to learn a lot about plans.It was quite interesting to learn about planes!!

My Ekiden Season-by Kensuke

★Hanshin Ekiden Festival★ Today was the Hanshin Ekiden festival. We ran 18km between 6 people. And I ran Fifth. I followed the other schools. I was forth in my section. It was very regrettable. But, this race became very nice. We wanted to give everyone a good impression of our team. We won the right to participate in the prefecture Ekiden. We will keep up the good work at Kannabe.

★Hyogo Ekiden Festival★ On the 17th was the Hyogo Ekiden festival at Kannabe. We went there on the 16th. The 16th was very nice weather. But, the festival day was very very cold and rainy. We were really in trouble. I ran fifth and ran 3,2km. It was cold when I was running. These conditions are not good for running. But, I could enjoy this Ekiden. Next year, I will run very fast at the Kannabe Ekiden festival!!

My Trip to Himeji-By Lin

Yesterday I went to Himeji central park. It was like 1hour away from my house. First I saw a Cheetah.Then I saw a Tiger.Next I saw the Lion.The Lion was big.Then I saw a Deer and lots of animals.Then I went to the bird cage.I picked up a peacocks feather.Then I fed the Elephant.And the giraffe.The giraffes tongue was long and rough.

Viva Las Vegas-By Fumino

The first day,I would be lieing if I said it wasn't fun but I was so tired.The flight was so long that I couldn't really have fun.well,I went to eat buffet that night.It was dinner time!I ate a lot.Well,I just can say this.I went to sleep so quickly.The next day,we had a tough schedule!First, we went to a show ticket store to buy show tickets for that night.Then we went to an outlet to buy some souvenirs.We ate lunch there and went back to the`Monte Carlo` hotel where we were staying.Then we slept a little and went to Chinese restaurant for dinner.The food tasted fine.After dinner we went to a magic show that we had booked our seats in the morning.The magician's name was David Copperfield.His magic was surprising.Then we went to see a fountain show which is so famous.It was beautiful and thoughtful.We finished that day marvelously.On the final day,we planed to go to Circus Circus but we were so tired that we didn't go.It was a relaxing day.We rode on a roller coaster that was so cool.Then we went a restaurant which made me so full.I ate crab legs.Then we went to Hard Rock cafe to buy some more souvenir.Well,maybe it was the most happiest day L had in Las Vegas.The next day,I woke up at 3am.I couldn't believe that I was awake!Our time in Las Vegas was finally finished:Maybe,I was glade!!

Last summer vacation,I filmed a "Wildlife documentary about bears"First experts and I went to a forest in January.They thought that there must be a cave around.Then we saw a big dark cave!The wildlife experts took a picture of the cave.Then they took out a little infrared camera from the bag and went into the cave.The man placed the camera into the cave and told us that they thought the bear who lives there was out of the cave so we can remove the camera in few more days.We left the forest and went back to the science center. Three days later,we returned to the forest again. Then,we took the camera from the cave and brought it back to the studio.We watched the video,we had taken.In the video,a bear was sleeping.Then suddenly the bear moved and we saw a little baby bear!All though it wasn't that little,it was such an active baby.The baby's mother was sleeping.I was bit worried so I asked to the expert.He said "While the mother bear is sleeping,the baby bear drink it's mothers milk."we now call the baby bear "Bingo."A few more weeks later the spring arrived.we went to Bingo in April.We saw Bingo walking with his mother.They went to the river to catch fish.Bingo's mother was good at catching fish.I supposed, Bingo would have to catch fish for himself someday.Then the experts used a tranquilizer gun to shoot Bingo's mother.The mother fall asleep so easily.Next we were able to shoot Bingo.We shoot the tranquilizer dart at Bingo so we could check his body.we weighed him and checked his temperature.He was OK.We had to put the mother asleep first so she wouldn't attack us.Then we Laid them back in the cave again. We put a censor tag on bingo's ear so we could know where he goes.the sky was getting dark.We left the forest that day.The next day,experts came rushing to my house.One of them said,bingo and his mother were not moving together.Maybe Bingo's lost.We went to look in the forest where Bingo was.We saw Bingo crying.Yes, he was lost.So we tranquilizered him again and brought him back to the cave.We went back to the study center as fast as we could to be safe from the mother bear. When ｗe came back we saw both censors were moving together again.We were all so happy.The winter was getting close.Soon,Bingo will became a daddy and have baby of his own.I think the film is now wonderful.

Kannabe Club Trip by Kensuke

I went to Kannabe with my club team. I ran in the mountains before I took a bath and swam on the 1st day. On the 2nd day, I woke up at 4:30 A.M. I was sleepy. That day we challenged 30km of running. It was very hard. That night I ate ice cream and enjoyed fire works. On the last day, I tried a 15km cross country and big slope dash. I ran 96.5km on this trip. I was very tired, but very happy.

Last summer vacation,me,Monica,Diego and Tommy went to Australia.We went to swim on Great Barrier Reef!On first day we went to the beach to go scuba diving.Inside the ocean,we saw colorful anemones.I wanted to touch them but Monica stopped me.She said it's beautiful but it's filled with poison.Then we saw colorful fish.They can swim very quickly but we can't.Yeah,I know they have gills,scales and fins.It was a fun first day.The next day,we went to the aquarium.We saw Sharks,Octopuses,Squids,Angler fish,Jelly fish,Eels,Sea turtles and Stingrays.Some octopuses were camouflaged and some used ink.Then we went to see a Dolphin show.They were cute and funny.I wished I could swim like that.Then we went to the beach again.I don;t know why but killer whales were swimming there!I couldn't believe it because killer whales are my favorite ocean animals.The second day was wonderful too.On the last day we went to a shellfish aquarium.We saw crabs,lobsters,clams and oysters.We learn how they protect there bodies and how they connect with people.They were so interesting but I thought I want to eat them.Then we went to a library to borrow a book called "All about ocean animals". In that book we saw Whales,Giant Squid and Killer whales.It was interesting book.That night I had a funny dream.I was on a Killer whale's back and was speaking to them.The Killer whale introduced me to his friends.Then suddenly we saw a Blue whale so we went under water.And yes,I was breathing under water too.The trip to Australia was such an interesting and fun trip.

I went to kidzania on Monday. At kidzania I did 6jobs. My favorite job was in the sweet factory. I made green apple Hi-chew. When we finished I got 5kidzo's. A few minutes later I ate 1 Hi-chew I made. It tasted very good!!

I had "Try Yaru Week" last week. I went to Ikari super Market. I packed many vegetables. Packing vegetables was very difficult. Sometimes I displayed vegetables in the shop. I ate lunch in a dining room. I worked 5hours every day. I ate rewards every day, like orange juice, mango and melon. I learned many things. I was tired but happy!!

My First Ski Trip-By Hinako

I went to Nagano. It was short school trip from Tuesday to Thursday. We started in school at 7'00am. We were on the bus for 7.5hours. It was long time,but we talked to each other and we sang songs. We had very funny time in bus. In Nagano,we went skiing.I thought it would be hard,but it is an easy sport. I think skiing is a very interesting sport. The mountains were beautiful. We stayed at "Hotel Ichinose". It was a nice hotel. Dinner,lunch,and breakfast were very yummy! I came back yesterday,but I wanted to stay longer!!

We went to Ireland on March 21st. We stayed at Granddaddy's house. My aunt was very beautiful at the wedding. We had the wedding at an old church. The wedding was very interesting. This was the first wedding I had been to. We stayed at an old hotel. Dinner was roast beef and soup. It was very good. After dinner we had a little rest. Then everyone began to dance into the night. But Sachi and I were too shy to dance so we didn't dance. Sachi and I were getting sleepy so we went to bed. Other people went to the pub after dancing. It was very nice day. I'll never forget it.

My Best Vacation-By Mao

I went to Hawaii.I went with my mum,dad,brother,Grandma and Grandpa.I stayed in a hotel.The hotel room was big,so I was very happy.I went to the ocean with my dad and brother.It was fun.Because big waves washed around up.I wanted to go again and play and play.The next day i went to an Hawaiian school. The Hawaiian schools name was Nature Center. There was a lot of rooms, maybe three big rooms. Sometimes i went to the ocean with the teacher and my nature center friends.The bus was very big and cool.The bus was yellow.In the ocean one boy caught an eel.It was quite big.Later,we ate lunch. It was yummy. Next i ate a snack. It was yummy too. We went back to the school and then back to the hotel with Mum, Dad and my brother.
The next day i made lots of friends. I was very happy. The Hawaiian food was delicious but there was so much meat. I don't like to eat meat that much so I was a bit unhappy.I wanted to eat Japanese rice, so I was unhappy.But It was very fun.

last summer vacation I went to my grandparents house. They live in the country-side so it's too quiet for me.My grandfather picked me up at the airport in his pick up truck and took me back yo the house.Their house is cute.The color is clear white and clear light blue.It's a one-story house and has a one garage. There are five rooms,a living room,bed room,rec room,kitchen and bath room.The living room has a little fire place,one soft arm chair and lots of old things for me to look at it.The curtains orange and the wall paper is brown.The kitchen and bath room are cover with tile.
The kitchen has big bath tub and big window that can see the city.I like the bedroom best because the bed has a soft quilt that my grandmother made.The view from the windows in the bedroom is also great.At night,I can sometimes see deers.Well now you know the house so I should tell what I did!On the first day,grandmother and I made lots of cookies.The cookies were lots of shapes,angels,stars,hearts and circles.We also decorated the cookies with cream.some was pink and we put it on the heart shape cookies.It was fun.We also made cake.She made the sponge and I decorated.We put some strawberry's on top too.Then we went to rec room and played.First we played with UNO.Then we played video games.Finally we both watched TV and relaxed.We were tired.The next day,grandfather,grandmother and I had a barbecue.Grandmother cut the foods and grandfather grilled and I placed them on the table.It was delicious.I liked the meat,but I liked onions too.It was sweet.Then the neighbors came.They didn't eat the meat or vegetables but they ate the cake that we made.I hope they liked that cake.The vacation was wonderful!I want to come back again on my next vacation.

take off their shoes when they go into their homes.
So,when I went to Chicago last spring,I didn't
take off my shoes at my host family's house.I just
walked in.I was really surprised when my host
father asked me to take off my shoes!In their
