Volcanoes-By Lin

There is a active volcano near my house in Mauna Loa Kilauea.
One day the ground shook. We hid under the table. And carefully looked out side the window. One of the volcanoes had erupted. Magma was flowing down the VOLCANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ran down the hill and up the mountain where it was safe. We'll never forget about the terrible day.

A volcanoes forms when hot magma beneath the earth's crust pushes up through cracks or holes. There are two types of volcanic vents. The volcanoes at the edge of the plate and the volcanoes in the middle of the plate. The volcanoes form when the piece of the crust called plates moves against each other. Almost all the volcanoes erupt in place where two plates meet. There are 4 types of volcanoes. Shield volcanoes like Mauna Loa Kilauea. Cinder cone volcanoes like in Guatemala and Central America. Strato volcanoes like Mt hood and Mt St. Helens in Oregon.
