I had always heard that people in the U.S.don't
take off their shoes when they go into their homes.
So,when I went to Chicago last spring,I didn't
take off my shoes at my host family's house.I just
walked in.I was really surprised when my host
father asked me to take off my shoes!In their
home,everyone takes off their shoes when they
enter the house.Some of my classmates said that
their host families also took off their shoes at the
door.Other classmates said that their host families
usually left their shoes on.But,when it was
raining or snowing,they always took them off.
They didn't want to clean the floor afterwards!
It just watch to see what other people do when they
go into a house.If I should take my shoes off.That's
the easiest way-just ask if you're not sure.

Rowena Diary-A trip To Australia-By Fumino

Last weekend, Monica,Diego,Tommy and I went to Australia.I had never been to Australia before. I have been to Europe,North,South America,Africa and Asia. But not Australia and Antarctica. Monica and I made a list of a things that we wanted to do. First we went to the zoo to see the animals.We saw a baby kangaroo in side a Mother kangaroo's pocket.And we saw emu too.We hugged baby koala too. It was so cute!Then we went to our hotel and slept.The next day, we went to Uluru with a local guide.the guide man spent a lot of time looking at Monica.Maybe he liked her!?the view from Uluru was great!We ate cucumber up there.It was nice. Then we walked to the beach.We talked about other trips we had been on.Monica talked about Antarctica.She said she saw penguins.Diego told us about Europe.He went to Spain. He saw lot's of big bulls.Tommy told us about Asia.He went to Japan and saw lot's of rice paddies.Then I talked about South America.I went to see the Amazon Jungle.It was very big. I dranked coffee too. it was nice. Then we all went to change our clothes.Monica was wearing a bikini.Tommy and Diego were in bathing suits.I was in a bikini too.We wen diving on the Great Barrier Reef to see colorful corals and fish.It was very beautiful.It was very fun weekend,But Monica has to go back for her job so she can't be late for next day.
