Moon Walk

The first trip to the moon.
The name of the mission was the Apollo 11 mission.
They wanted to go to the moon because they wanted to check what was there.
There were three astronauts in the team.
Their names were Buzz Aldrin Michael Collins and Neil Arm Strong.
The name of the space craft was Apollo 11 and the rocket was Saturn V.



The moon is 384,400 kms from Earth.
It was going to take the spacecraft 3 days to fly there.
Its a dangerous mission.
It was going to be difficult trip for the astronauts because they needed do a lot of work.
They finally launched Apollo 11 on July 16th 1969 at 9;37 am.

Apollo 11 is traveling 6 miles a second -faster than a bullet.
The astronauts can see Earth growing smaller and smaller.
Its a beautiful sight.
At night the men sleep zipped up in floating-hammocks.
They fix special space meals to eat.
